Mt. Zion launches six months, $500K capital campaign to purchase a church building

In March of 2008, our Pastor, Reverend Reginald W. Chea and a group of Christian brothers and sisters with a vision and purpose began meeting in the basement of the home of Deacons Nathaniel and Annette Seton in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. The reason of this meeting was to worship and share the word of God. As this group grew, the vision was realized that a church was forming. As we contemplated on a name, Hebrews 12: 18-24 came to mind, specifically verses 22-24: “But ye are come unto Mount Zion , and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect…” Our attendance grew, prompting us to look for a house of worship. For the past eight years, we have rented a space for worship. Since June 29, 2008, we have worshiped at 2315 24th Avenue North Minneapolis, MN, 55411; where we continue to believe in God for a home of our own. Since 2008, Mt. Zion has been a rapidly growing church in the North Minneapolis community. In addition to our weekly Thursday and Sunday services, we proudly hold community outreach programs like the Children Holidays Give-Away, volunteer activities with Feed My Starving Children, and our Annual Fellowship Picnic. In recent months, we learned that the building in which we hold our weekly worship services would be put up for sale. We enjoy being a part of the North Minneapolis community and are believing in God to stay and continue His work for many more years to come. We believe in God and that through your prayers and financial support, our work in His Kingdom will continue here. Please join us for our six months Capital Campaign to raise a total of $500,000 (the building's purchase price). Our short-term goal is $150,000, which would help us secure a loan for the building. Funding for this project will come from two primary sources: our internal building fund campaign (including tithes and offerings), and external financing. We have initiated an ongoing building fund campaign that officially started on November 12, 2016. This campaign consists of members who have committed to contributing $2,000.00 within a period of six months. After we have achieved our goal and acquired the property, the community will benefit from the following, not limited to: - establishing a child-care center, which will bring employment opportunities to the community - partnering with local schools for after school activities, including tutoring, mentoring, etc. - decreasing crime, by engaging the youth in various activities throughout the week - initiating summer camps for youths - creating a distribution site for food and clothing - and many others things as the Lord leads Together, a donation in any amount will help us achieve our goal of $500,000 by the end of April 2017. As you give generously to Mt Zion, may God Almighty replenish that which was given and even more back into you. May God’s blessings overflow to you and may His goodness forever reign in your courts.
